Do the Ten Commandments still make sense in today's society? To answer this question, the author meets ten people - very different in education, profession, interests - and from their conversations on each individual precept, ten original meanings of the Decalogue emerge. And here's the surprise: the Commandments, three thousand years old, are still very young and current, even necessary and urgent. They are "natural laws" that people refer to in an obvious way, and that overwhelm the logic of the world thanks to their apparent simplicity and clarity. They help those who are disoriented, they become references for a new humanism. All interpreters, regardless of their beliefs, enjoy going beyond the obvious meaning of each precept, and indicate in the ten commands, to be rediscovered in their strength, a compass that is still necessary today. The Ten Commandments are an opening to the eternal, from the dawn of time, in step with the times. There are only ten. However, they contain the infinite.
